HYDRONEPHROSIS , clinical features,investigation and treatment ?

Hydronephrosis:-

Disorder of renal system.

Dilatation of renal pelvis or without calyceal distension on radiological imagiging.

What is clinical features of hydronephrosis:-

Detected antenatally by USG

If not detected

• Pain in the lumber area 
• Asymptomatic abdominal mass
• Recurrent UTI
• Hematuria,specially following minor trauma
• Recurrent abdominal pain,nausea without vomiting
• Failure to thrive,anemia and Hypertension.

What is  the investigation of hydronephrosis:-

• Excretoryvesicourethrogram(IVU)- to assess renal function
• Usg- Antenatally and postnatally
• Doppler sonography
• Nuclearscintigraphy
• CT scan
• MR imaging.

What are the treatment and management of hydronephrosis:-

• Nephrectomy 
• Dismembered pyeloplasty
• Percutaneous nephrostomy
• Pyeloplasty-in bilateral hydronephrosis.
